If you reside in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland or Canada, the question you might be asking yourself goes like this… “who should I reflect on during the month of February?”. And it is not that everyone is not important, nor that anyone (necessarily) matters more than another. If today was special to you, and tomorrow is special to another person, who should the spotlight be on today? Black History Month is when we intentionally celebrate the achievements of people like Rosa Parks, and recognize her role in history. We are talking Olympic medal winning, Nobel Peace Prize earning, Lightbulb revolutionizing, and First black person ever type stuff. The struggles of darker skinned people, living in predominately lighter skinned societies, is discussed In The Church and The Community, Page 210, and we implore you to give it a read. This is the month to reflect and remember.
